What IFEIA does
IFEIA is the International Framework for Educational Institutions Accreditation. We accredit business and professional programmes: associate-, bachelor-, master- and doctoral-level programmes in business and related professional fields, and stand-alone certificate programmes. Professional programmes that are not degree-level can receive Professional Programme Recognition.
We do this under our own published standards and system. The standards are the seven axes of The IFEIA Framework. The system is a documented process, from inquiry to annual monitoring, ending in a decision that states its reasons and an entry in the public registry.
What IFEIA is, and is not
An independent, private, non-governmental body. Our accreditation rests on our published standards. It is not a government licence and we never present it as one. An institution that needs government approval to operate or to award degrees must still obtain it from the competent authority.
Why a specialist accreditor
Business and professional education changes quickly and is judged by employers and professional bodies as much as by academics. A specialist can ask sharper questions about applied practice, industry input and the real meaning of a credential than a general-purpose quality scheme. We keep the scope narrow so that the standard can be exact.
