What is IFEIA?
IFEIA is an independent, private, non-governmental accreditation body for business and professional programmes. We accredit under our own published standards and system.
Is IFEIA accreditation the same as government recognition?
No. IFEIA is a private body and its accreditation rests on its published standards. An institution that needs government authorisation to operate or to award degrees must obtain it from the competent authority. IFEIA accreditation does not replace it.
What does IFEIA accredit?
Business and professional programmes at associate, bachelor, master and doctoral level, and stand-alone certificate programmes. Professional programmes that are not degree-level can receive Professional Programme Recognition.
Can an institution hold accreditation from more than one body?
Yes. Institutions often hold accreditation or recognition from several bodies. An IFEIA accreditation speaks only to the IFEIA standards and to the scope stated on the record.
How do I check that a certificate is genuine?
Use the Verify page. Search by institution name, registration number or certificate number, or scan the QR code on the certificate. The record and the certificate are shown together.
What does "Effective from" mean on a record?
The accreditation decision takes effect on that date. Until then the record shows Effective from and the date. On the date the status becomes Active.
How long does an accreditation last?
The record states the duration, and it is subject to annual monitoring. A decision can be suspended or withdrawn under the published policy.
How do I apply?
Start with an inquiry. We confirm scope, level and route and send the application checklist. See the Process page for each stage.
What does it cost?
Fees are published on the Fees page: a USD 50 application credited to the review, then one review fee per programme from USD 290, and a low annual monitoring fee.
How can I appeal a decision or make a complaint?
Follow the appeals and complaints procedure. Appeals are heard by a panel separate from the original decision.
How is my data handled?
See the Privacy policy. We collect only what is needed to handle an inquiry, application or verification request.
