Accreditation
Eligibility
The conditions an institution and a programme must meet before we begin a review.
The institution
- It is a legally established entity that delivers or intends to deliver the programme, and it can show its legal status.
- It holds, or can show it is not required to hold, the authorisation to operate that applies where it delivers the programme. IFEIA accreditation does not replace that authorisation.
- It can name a person accountable for the application and for annual monitoring.
- It agrees to the published standards, the process, the Code of Conduct and the Use of the Mark policy.
The programme
- It is a business or professional programme: for example business administration, management, leadership, finance, marketing, human resources, operations, logistics, entrepreneurship or a professional field of practice.
- It sits at one of the levels we accredit: associate, bachelor, master, doctoral or certificate. Professional programmes that are not degree-level can be considered for Professional Programme Recognition.
- It has defined learning outcomes, a curriculum, a method of delivery and a method of assessment, all documented.
- It has enrolled learners or a documented plan to enrol them, and the institution can describe how outcomes will be tracked.
What we need before we start
- Legal and authorisation documents for the institution.
- A programme profile: title, level, outcomes, structure, delivery and assessment.
- A short statement of why the institution is applying and what it hopes to improve.
- Acceptance of the conflict-of-interest declaration for applicants.
The full list is in the application checklist.
Not eligible
We cannot review programmes that fall outside business and professional fields, or institutions that cannot document their legal status. An application can be declined at inquiry stage, with the reason given.
